Netflix on Tuesday took the wraps off the official trailer for The Kissing Booth 3, the latest and final installment of the hit young-adult romantic comedy series that stars Joey King. The film will hit the streamer August 11.
WATCH THE TRAILER BELOW:
While we got a clip of the threequel last July, this gives us an extended look at the multiple dilemmas facing Elle (Joey King) in the final movie of the series. She not only has to decide which college to go to, but also balance her friendship with Lee (Joel Courtney) and her relationship with Noah (Jacob Elordi).
Oh, and Marco (Taylor Perez) is back to stir up trouble and potentially win Elle back after their kiss in the sequel.
THE WITCHER SEASON 2 TRAILER REVIEW
Netflix confirmed The Kissing Booth 3 shortly after the sequel's release in July 2020 and in even better news for fans, the streaming service revealed that the movie had been filmed back-to-back with the sequel.
The Kissing Booth films are based on the self-published Beth Reekles novels that follow high school student Elle Evans, who is forced to confront her secret crush at a (what else?) kissing booth. In the first two installments, she meets, then falls for, and subsequently dates high school jock Noah.
The third movie, which hails once again from director Vince Marcello (who co-writes here with Jay S Arnold), was shot in South Africa at the same time as the second film. During a special Netflix fan event last summer, King and Courtney confirmed the surprise new film and revealed that the entire cast — including Taylor Zakhar Perez, Molly Ringwald, Meganne Young, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, and more — would be returning.
Marcello & Jay Arnold penned the script, which is based on the final book in Beth Reekles’ trilogy (the first book was published on Wattpad in 2010 when she was 15). Taylor Zakhar Perez, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Meganne Young and Molly Ringwald also return to the caseMarcello produces through his Picture Loom banner along with Michele Weisler, Ed Glauser and Andrew Cole-Bulgin. King and Adam Friedlander are executive producers.
It seems that Elle and Lee have always had a "Beach Bucket List" of all the things they wanted to do together before going to college and since it's their last summer at the beach house, this is their last chance to complete it.
However, it seems the time they're spending together on it has an impact on Elle's relationship with Noah, potentially opening the door for Marco to swoop in after he meets her again while she's working her summer job.
Will Elle make a decision for herself after spending so long worrying about others? We shall find out.
